August 1998 Planners' Lunch Out

Economic and fiscal impact analyses are becoming more common as cities, developers, property owners and taxpayers face increasingly complex cost-sharing proposals. But what do all those numbers mean_ Will a development project, a tax increment financing district, a negotiated infrastructure funding agreement or another proposal be a "good deal" for the municipality_ For the property owner_ How can we make sense of the "dueling statistics" that sometimes show up at public hearings_

This month’s Planners’ Lunch Out will take a look at economic and fiscal impact analysis as tools for decision-making. Our panelists will share experiences and insights that should help you make sense of these reports, understand the key assumptions behind them and learn the questions to ask when commissioning or reviewing them. Please join us!
