Houston Section of the Texas APA

Membership

The Houston Section has 303 APA members, 22% of these members are also AICP. Close to 20% of the Texas Chapter APA membership is comprised of Houston Section members.

Location

The Houston Section includes the following 10 counties: Austin, Brazoria, Colorado, Ft. Bend, Galveston, Harris, Matagorda, Montgomery, Waller, and Wharton. Recent boundary changes resulted in some counties (previously in the Houston Section) being transferred to the Southeast Section.

Meetings

Regular monthly luncheons are held the first Tuesday of the month at The Courtyard on St. James Place, 1885 St. James Place in the Galleria area. The luncheon typically lasts from around 11:45 am to 1:15 pm. A buffet is available for $10 including salad, entree, tea, and coffee.

We are proud to announce Mayor Lee P. Brown will be our guest speaker at the July 7th meeting. Seating is limited so please RSVP by calling Emily Stadnicki at .
August 4th our speaker will be Jessica Cusick, Civic Art and Design Director at CACHH (Cultural Arts Council of Houston/Harris County).
Michael Stevens of Michael Stevens Interest and housing advisor to former Mayor Bob Lanier will be our speaker on September 8th.
There will be no meeting in October, due to the Texas Chapter APA Conference in Austin, October 4th-7th.
On November 3rd our speaker will be Sally Shipman, Executive Director of the Coalition for the Homeless of Houston/Harris County. No meeting in December, look for details on our Holiday Party.
